Video Games: Here to Stay

Kids Loves Video Games
Playing video games is a fad that just won’t end. Decades after they made their first appearance, video games are still a hit among kids and those who are young at heart. Nowadays, there are more video games to choose from (from the original Pong! of yore to the gruesome war games that are highly popular today) and even more video game platforms (from bulky personal computers to greatly convenient video game consoles) to consider. The video game industry remains one of the most lucrative industries in modern times – and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, even with the current recession and worldwide financial crisis.
It’s not hard to see why video games continue to spawn thousands upon thousands of loyal fans and generate millions of dollars every year. Playing video games is considered one of the coolest ways to relax (or “chill out,” as the new generation refers to it) in this age of technological advancement. Because of the high level of interaction that video games offer the players, one can indeed get hooked on playing for long, uninterrupted periods of time. A video game is basically a game that promotes interaction with a user interface in order to generate visual feedback on a player’s choice of platform or video device. Thanks to new developments in technology, chief elements in interaction are now more improved than ever. These elements include, aside from visual feedback, sound reproduction devices (like headphones and speakers) and haptic peripherals (like force or vibration feedback) – and they make playing video games appealing and engaging. With future improvements and unrelenting patronage, video games are no doubt here to stay.
